Chamber orchestra
Michael Housa (*1998) graduated in violin performance under Jitka Nováková at the Prague Conservatory. He is currently studying conducting at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Previously, he studied conducting privately with doc. Marek Valášek. He is a former member of the Czech Student Philharmonic Orchestra, where he had the opportunity to work with leading Czech and international conductors (namely Jiří Bělohlávek, Jakub Hrůša, Semyon Bychkov, Simon Rattle, Giovanni Antonini, and others). During his studies at the eight-year grammar school in Mladá Boleslav, he co-founded a student orchestra, with which he participated in an international arts festival in China as concertmaster. He regularly participates in school and extracurricular courses with Czech orchestras, and in June 2024 he had the opportunity to work with the Boston Youth Philharmonic Orchestra under the guidance of Benjamin Zander at a conducting masterclass. In February 2025, he won first prize at the 3rd Young Conductors Competition in Karlovy Vary. He has previously collaborated with the Prague 8 Symphony Orchestra and the Mladá Boleslav Chamber Orchestra. He currently serves as conductor of the Far Musica chamber orchestra in Brandýs nad Labem, the Vlasta Škampová Chamber Orchestra, the Novoměstská filharmonie symphony orchestra, and the Euterpe Philharmonia orchestra in Prague, of which he is also the founder.
